Hello, my name is Lea Smith. I am a science teacher at Buhach Colony High school. I was born and raised in Turlock, CA. I graduated from Central Catholic High School in Modesto. For my undergrad degree, I went to California State University Stanislaus (CSUS) in Turlock and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While going to school at CSUS, I worked for Foster Farms Dairy testing milk and dairy products in both the chemistry and microbiology labs. After graduating from CSUS I worked in the private sector. I knew my passion was to teach so I finally decided to continue my education. I attended the University of Southern California (USC) where I graduated with my teaching credential and my Master’s degree in Teaching.
In 2011, I married my husband Nick Smith. Nick was born and raised in Atwater and graduated from Atwater High School. Nick attended Merced College where he graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration and has dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Automotive Marketing and Management from Northwood University in Texas. On December 20, 2013 Nick and I welcomed a new member to our family, a baby boy name Brayden. Nick and I enjoy sports, going to sporting events (Go SF Giants) and fishing together. We also enjoy traveling and photography.
I look forward to meeting everyone. Together we will explore and learn.
